Oh, the Places You’ll Go!

Wow, time does fly when you’re having fun. It seems like only last week we stepped out of our plane, out of our element, and began this entire adventure, but here I am writing this post as we just finished our final exam. It’s not often I am able to say that I’m having a blast when going to school everyday, but when your in Germany, there’s an exception.

This is the Castle at Heidelberg and my picture did not do it justice. The castle itself was absolutely stunning and it sat atop a hill overlooking the city of Heidelberg as well as the river. Soon after I took this picture, we were able to tour it and explore the grounds in our free time. This may have been one of my favorite day trips.

Group dinners (something we all looked forward to) happened once a week and it gave me the opportunity to eat delicious German food without breaking the budget. I have gotten into the habit of taking pictures of my food as I have been abroad (a habit that will not continue back in the States).

This is one of the many murals from the East-Side Gallery which are the remaining pieces from the Berlin Wall. The mural itself is of two doves carrying the Brandenburg Gate above the cross.IMG_0727

The final picture is from a place called Classic Remise which are the experts on classic and collectible cars. Germany is well known for being home to BMW, Volkswagon, Audi, and other automobile manufacturers. I was a kid in a candy store. Even though I am in Germany, I had to post a picture of the dream; an Aston Martin (a British car).

Note: The title is from Dr. Seuss

  1. Enjoyed your final blog, as well as all of the other blogs — so glad you’ve all made it this far. Reading them and seeing the pictures has been next best to being there and experiencing them in person.

  2. Hurrah for the places you’ve gone, the things you’ve experienced and the foods you’ve enjoyed! We are thanking God for it all!
