Differences of Germany

The past week in Germany has been incredible! There are a couple very interesting things about Germany. I did not expect to have to pay for bathrooms here. I just kinda assumed that they would be free in Germany as well. Tap water is also something that is sparse. The first time that I sat down at a restaurant, I almost ordered a water thinking it would be free, luckily, a friend reminded me that you have to pay even for water. However, those are both minor inconveniences. What I really miss  about home, is the occasional rest and quiet along with home cooked meals. I love the food here and it has been awesome to try so many new things. But nothing compares to my mother’s chicken pot pie. Or salads, I certainly didn’t think that I would be missing salads, but the inexpensive food here can usually isn’t the most healthy. You can see below that the Bratwurst looks incredible but is not a super healthy option.

I certainly wish that the Germany ice cream was in the states though. All of the ice cream cones are less that 1.5 euros and they are the perfect amount of ice cream…not too much or too little. Overall, I am incredibly happy with Germany and there are not too many things that I would change. Germany has been fantastic!
