Walking Through Time

Wittenberg, or Lutherstadt, was such a cool city. Because very little of it was destroyed during the war, much of the streets and buildings are original construction dating back to Luther’s time.

Walking through that city was like stepping back in time, and I was half expecting to see Luther running down the streets to the church to lay down some serious Bible knowledge on the common people. Walking through Luther’s house was also an interesting experience, how his room was preserved, the different works of art inspired by Luther’s actions, and the large library of books of Luther’s teachings was a cool sight to see.

The amount of stuff that was preserved over the years is amazing, but at the same time the ability of construction crews to rebuild and refurbish old buildings to make them look new is miraculous.
