Stairs, stairs and more stairs I would say was the main theme of the trip. Since we walked up so many stairs from the forbidden city to the Great Wall. We definitely stayed in good shape with all the excercise. Also I feel that stairs are a great analogy for China because they are always going up the stairs of becoming a great nation. They are a growing economy and I am so thankful that I was able to go and see it for myself. Since I did not expect China to be the way it is, with the size of the big cities and amount of people. It was the experience of a lifetime. I really enjoyed all of the company visits that we went to because it was interesting learning how Chinese companies operate. In addition to learning how American companies have been incorporated in the Chinese market. However, I really appreciated all of the reading that we had on the trip because it helped to understand just what is going on in China. I feel that this trip was much more than just three weeks because I feel I have learned a semesters worth of knowledge. I am very grateful that I was able to go on the trip and would recommend to everyone if they get a chance that they should go to China too.

January 11

January 11 started off pretty rough for most of us I would say because we started our day waking up on our train from Beijing to Shanghai. Although I feel that we all slept pretty decent on the train because we were all so tired from our activities. Except getting ready for a company meeting on a moving train is hard. Especially when it comes to doing normal morning routines while trying to balance as the train glides over the rails. However, even though space was limited and it was not the most comfortable time getting ready. We were all able to look our our best as we went to our meeting with Kavo.

Our meeting with Kavo was well put together and packed with a lot of information. That was accompanied by us getting to go on a tour of their new faculties and some of their projects. They also were very generous to us by providing a wonderful meal to us for lunch. This was definitely a very good meeting today and a great company to kick off our first day in Shanghai. Along with in the evening we went to a acrobat show. This show was hands down one of the coolest things I have witnessed. In the ways that the dancer perform and are able to use their bodies. It was also fascinating because the building next to our theater was the building that they used to shoot the movie 007 Slyfall. Our tour guide was very informative of the area and I am so glad he shared that with us. I can’t wait to see what the rest of Shanghai has in store for us.
