When people ask me how Germany was, my quick summary will go something like this, with a smile: “It was amazing, but there was no air conditioning during 90 degree weather, so I’m glad to be back.” While that is largely an attempt at a joke, there is so much more to the story.

Last Friday, our group visited Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. It was an eye-opening experience. During history classes, I have been taught about the genocide that happened in World War 2, but it never effected me the way it did on Friday.
First Thoughts
I first became interested in the Summer Program when my oldest brother, Paul, went on it five years ago. He had a great time, and so did my middle brother, Sean, when he went on it two years ago. I knew I had to at least check it out. Continue reading “First Thoughts”
