Hi, my name is Nate Zylstra. I am a senior mechanical engineering student. I will be graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Engineering degree with an international designation. My love of engineering derives from an innate need to optimize. I like to build things and analyze processes to see how it works and how it can work better. I have worked in industry interning at Rapid-line, a metal fabrication shop where I learned several production processes. Over the past year, I have been a research assistant with Professor Rich De Jong at Calvin College researching wind noise in vehicles for a project sponsored by Toyota. Through these experiences, I have developed 3D modeling skills; an appreciation for various levels of production; and communication between customers, engineers, and production workers. After graduation, I will be working for Herman Miller as an options engineer.
