Berlin Is an amazing place with very diverse culture. A lot of things in the city cannot be compared to any place in the US.
I didn’t expect that so may people in the city would smoke cigarettes. It is common that while walking down the street, cigarette smoke will fill the inside of my nose. I also didn’t expect that excessive amount of very nice, luxurious cars around the city. Lamborghinis and Ferraris peruse the streets, showing off to us tourists. The houses in the area are also very nice, with obvious signs of a lot of money put into them. I also didn’t expect the large amount of homeless people. There are more homeless people around the city than I’ve ever seen before. I miss having Air conditioning, even though the weather never gets too hot, It would be nice to walk into an AC filled room. Back home, I think it would be awesome to have an improved public transportation system, as Berlin has a fantastic system that can get you from point A to point B in a short amount of time. Berlin has numerous forms of transportation. There is a Bus, an Underground Train, and also a regular train. With just a quick address typed into google maps, we are able to figure out a perfectly simplified itinerary of travel. I am so grateful for the past week, and the many things I have learned about the German culture, and I cannot wait for the many weeks ahead to come.
