I have chosen to partake in the SPIG as I see it as a great opportunity to invest in my cultural and engineering knowledge. While enjoying traveling in Europe for my first time, I will be learning a great deal about Germany, a country known for its engineers, and continuing my own engineering studies.
As a class outcome, I hope t0 learn a great deal about travelling (outside of the United States), German history and culture, and the profession of engineering. I also hope to make friends, have fun, and potentially build relationships that may be beneficial to me as I move forward as an engineer.
The greatest personal strength that I believe I have to offer to our group is the ability to promote community building. I enjoy building and fostering new relationships, and this trip will offer ample opportunity to do so. I hope that we will all get to know each other more and have a blast in Germany together!
My prayer for this summer program is that I will focus on academics, have fun, and explore new grounds socially and literally. (I also pray for safety for everyone on the trip.)
